We tell girls to step outside their comfort zone - so step outside of yours too and join us for OTEX to build your skills and help get more girls outdoors! The Outdoor Training Extravaganza is an annual weekend for volunteers and older Girl Scouts with the mission of all participants receiving training in an outdoor skill. Participants will grow in knowledge, skill and confidence to enhance Girl Scouts' outdoor experiences. Canoeing - Learn the basics of recreational canoe paddling including strokes, games, group safety and rescue skills. Successful completion of this class enables participants to facilitate canoe activities on Gateway properties only.

Program Date/Time: May 3, 2024 at 6 PM to May 5, 2024 at 12pm; Eastern Standard Time
Program Fees: $70/Girl Scout, $70/adult
Additional Details:
*As part of the Gateway certification process to supervise these activities, participants in Canoeing, must also help facilitate a Canoeing program during Aquatics Weekend at Camp Kateri. The Gateway certification is not complete until you have facilitated at Aquatics.
*Fees include meals and session materials; eat dinner before arriving Friday evening.
*Must be at least 16 years old.
*This program is for 2023-24 registered Girl Scout girls and 2023-24 registered and background-checked adults.
*For safety and supervision reasons, troops and individuals are not permitted to bring non-Girl Scouts or siblings.
Cancellation and Refunds:
All cancellation and refund requests must be received in writing (email) before April 19, 2024. You will receive confirmation via email if the request has been approved. If the program is cancelled due to weather, low registration numbers or other unforeseen circumstance, you will be notified via email to the email listed at the time of registration. Plans to reschedule, postpone, or cancel the program will be included in this email. All registrants will be given the option to reschedule (if option is available) or receive a refund at the time of cancellation. Refunds may only be credited to the credit card account used at the time of purchase.
